Meet Arthur
A little about me…
Hello, I’m Arthur — gentleman, explorer, and occasional sofa hog.
I was rescued from the streets of Romania, where I spent my early years dodging cars, charming the locals, and dreaming of a warm bed. Life wasn’t always easy, but I never lost my gentle nature or my waggy tail. Now that I’m safe in the UK, I’m looking for a forever home where I can finally unpack my emotional baggage (it’s just a small backpack, I promise).
I’m a true all-rounder — affectionate without being clingy, curious without being chaotic, and independent enough to let you go to the bathroom alone (unless there’s cheese involved, in which case… no promises).
His exposure to people and other animals during that time was limited, so Bruce has been getting used to a busier lifestyle over the past month. He will do best in a home with experienced dog owners and children ten years of age or older (he can be a bit of a bull in a china shop). He can be also selective about other dogs, but has been great with cats.Bruce likes cheese, belly rubs, short walks, cats, some dogs, and laying near his humans. His dislikes include having his collar grabbed, some dogs and car rides.Bruce is looking forward to a long and pleasant retirement in a quiet home with a family who will love him, be patient and willing to work with him.
He is a very sweet boy who will blend in well once he gets settled. If you would like to know more about adopting Bruce, please submit a pre-adopt application and our dog adoption coordinator will be in touch.
My likes:
Long countryside walks (sniffing every bush is a must)
Belly rubs and ear scritches
Car rides, especially if snacks are involved
Napping in sunspots or on soft cushions (your bed is optional, but preferred)
My dislikes:
Loud noises (I might flinch at first, but I’m getting braver every day)
Cats (I’d rather not, to be honest)
Being called a “good boy” without a treat to back it up. Standards, you know?
Ideal home:
I’d love a calm, loving home with access to a garden or green space. I get along with other friendly dogs, and I’d thrive with patient adopters who can help me settle into my new life at my own pace.
I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully house-trained — basically, the full package.
